Someone Needs to Resign

I am outraged that the entire Joint Chiefs of Staff have been silent on the fact that this administration decided to use soldiers as political pawns. This administration decided that they would refuse to pay out the death benefit to our fallen soldiers families. It was a decision made entirely out of politics. It is wrong to DEFAULT on our soldiers. We promised we had their back and would take care of their families. Yet, the Admirals and Generals (General's Dempsey, Odierno, Amos, Welsh, and Grass, along with Admirals Winnefeld and Greenert) have been hiding from the public eye. Not one word from any of the military men (I'd call them leaders but there have decided to leave their soldiers behind on the battlefield and that is despicable and not leadership) that should have made a stand. Not one word from GEN Dempsey, does he even care? Not one word from any of these men can only mean they agree with the politics. So while it is treasonous in my opinion these men show they have no honor and no integrity. All of the Generals and Admirals should have taken a stand and stood up to the administration. Are they just following orders? I mean I hope not because that excuse went through the trapdoor in 1945 during the Nuremburg trials. There is no reason or excuse for these men to ignore the fallen soldiers. How will these Generals and Admirals ever look at another soldier in the eye again? Every soldier should turn their back on these clowns who have done nothing to take care of the fallen. These Generals and Admirals have decided to allow their soldiers to become nothing more than the administrations political pawns. These Generals and Admirals should be ashamed to say they wear the same uniform as the fallen. One might ask what I would have done. Well I would have immediately told the President to get this fixed. If that didn't work, I would have called a news conference, read my resignation, and walk off the podium. These men are supposed to be principled. GEN Shinseki openly clashed with President Bush and Donald Rumsfeld. Yet the current JCS personnel stood by silently. These clowns should be forced to resign now. I am left to wonder: is the Solider creed nothing but a punchline for some sick joke. Here is one last thought to ponder: How can these clowns ever ask the soldiers to live up to the army values if they themselves do not?

Hostages and Human Shields

The President Obama and his merry Democrats have been fond of stating the Republicans have taken the American people hostage. Yet, upon further review it would appear the President and the Democrats are using children as human shields. Is one any better than the other? I mean if it is wrong to take hostages wouldn't it also be an issue with the use of human shields? I am in agreement that the Republicans should not have allowed the fight over Obamacare to shut down the government. The Republicans if they wanted to fight should have begun passing their Appropriations bills. Each appropriation bill could have stripped Obamacare funding and let there bew a debate over that but at least the Appropriations bill would have been passsed as is the law of the land. This whole continuing resolution battle is nothing more than kabuki theater. It is a shame that the republicans didn't do their job and pass all 13 individual appropriations bills before the end of the FY. The republicans are wrong in this fight period. They need to get back to debating the budget and not Obamacare specifically. The Republicans hold no right to hold Americans hostage. I am also in agreement the demcrats are wrong not to engage in negotiations and debate. Smiply staing that is is my way or the highway is pure hog wash. I heard today someone stating that the Demcorats control 2/3's of government and therefdore should get their way. Unfortunately, each party controls about half of government. The Court titls slightly to the right, the excutive is left, and Congress is split. Those are the facts. The House does in fact have the right under the law of the land to state what they will and won't fund. See all appropriation bills will originate in the House. So no, democrats you do not have the right to sit on the sidelines and refuse to negotiate. Now though what is really appalling is the hypocrisy on the left. The party that rules on emotion and claims to care about grandma and the children like their own certainly has shown their true colors. Harry Reid stated "why would we do that" when asked if he would pass the NIH spending bill if it would save just one child. Now the media jumped to Reid's aid and pushed hard to say of course Reid cares about children that he was only stating he wanted everything in Government funded. However, Reid tried to equate 1100 Government employees with sick children. That is flat out wrong. So also is the fact that Obama would shut down the Amber alert system but continue paying overtime and for fixes to his failed Obamacare exchange system. Isn't Obama and his merry democrats using children as human sheilds to "make it hurt". See the Amber alert system helps locate misssing children and helps communities keep their children safe from predators. Yet this adminstration would rather keep Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" website up and running. It takes a truly sick and deranged person to use children as human shiled and political props. The Democrats can no longer reasonably state their are the caring party when it is Obama and the Demcorats that are doing everything they can to make the children hurt. I am disgusted with both political parties and will probably vote for write in Candidates for all federally elected office. My write in votes will go to my friends and family. People that I know to be interested in taking care of their friends and neighbors. We need to stop voting for the politicians that make politics their career and start voting for the reluctant politican that would serve the people. Our political party's have ruined this great country and we the people need to make the changes necessary to hold the politically corrupt accountable. The taking of hostages and holding children as human shields are sick and disgusting methods used by elitists more interestd in power than the people they represent.

It Is Too Late to Turn Back

The American voter needs to strike back. The problem with government is that no one is governing. The only thing happening is that both party's play political football with the lives of Americans. Rather then lead and govern as they were elected, the politicians only care about themselves and the next election. The Democrats were intent on closing government down because they believe Republicans will get the blame and they will then be swept back into power the last two years of Obama's reign. The Republicans want the shutdown to prove they really are against Obamacare and not into meaningless votes. What this all means is that neither party can afford to back down. Each party must receive something or risk losing their base. The American voters need to have their voices heard. Keep the government closed maybe we won't have to default on OCT 17. The country is still taking in tax dollars but should be having a hard time spending if the government is really shutdown. Close even more of the government. You know what would happen? If we only kept minimum required to pay our bills, then maybe we wouldn't need these clowns in Washington DC and we the people could take our government back. We the people could have representation again. We could essentially start governing again and stop all of the political infighting. All the politicians do now is play politics. All you have to do is figure out when the last time an appropriation bill passed both houses and was signed by the President? When was the last time all 13 bills were passed as separate appropriations bills? When was the last time an appropriation bill was passed by the start of the fiscal year? Finally when was the last time all 13 appropriation bills were passed into law by the start of the fiscal year? The answer to these questions really explain why the politicians can't govern. There is no budget, there is no way to direct priorities, no way to direct investments. This is no way to run a country and we must get rid of the politicians and elect leaders. Maybe reluctant leaders. Maybe people like the American voter. People that understand what it is their friends and neighbors need from government rather than what the politicians need from the people. Maybe we need to make them part time legislators again, they already take off more time then any other American and still refuse to do their job. I believe it is too late for either party to turn back. We need to take action and by that I mean run the bums out of DC. Start by visiting America's parks. The government may say the parks are closed but the government doesn't own the parks; we the people own the parks. Take back our country and demand our politicians go home and stay their.

The 540: Recall and Replace

There is a problem gripping the United States. Our partisan politics have paralyzed the country. We the people, have begged our government officials to work together and compromise and yet neither side of the political divide moves toward the middle. The Republicans are intent on not funding Obamacare. The Democrats are intent on not compromising. The Republicans supposedly have many bills with various poison pills waiting to pass in case the current continuing resolution doesn't pass in the senate. Nancy Pelosi didn't even care enough about the looming shutdown to show up and vote against the House Bill. There is an easy compromise: Follow the President's lead and delay the individual mandate for a year just like the business mandate is delayed. What is good for business will also be good for the people. We need to recall the 540 Officials responsible for this looming shutdown. This includes the President, Vice President, 100 Senators, 435 Representatives, and the three Washington DC delegates. I have heard the arguments from both sides. The arguments are always the same, the only thing that ever changes is which party is in the seat of power. All these politicians have the same thing in common. Our current crop of politicans, believe they are entitled to tell us what is good for us. In the minds of the political class, we the people, only have elections in which to have our voices heard. President Obama let that mask slip when he said "that is what elections are for". The media constantly reminds of this aspect when they say "people are not respectful of the Representatives in town halls". The politicians have forgotten they work for the people. Our government is designed to give the people the power not the government. There are 435 representatives in the House. The 435 representatives are supposed to represent the will of their disctrict; The peoples rights, and not the will of the party or the principle of the politician. The House is the people's vote. Then there are 100 Senators. The Senate is supposed to represent the will of the States. That is why originally, it was the States that selected the Senators and not the people. The Senate was supposed to protect States Rights. Finally, the President represents the country. This is how the constitution is laid out. Does anyone really believe that is how it is working? Somehow, we the people are relegated to the sidelines except for election day. That is why tough votes happen in off election years. Battles over bills that are divisive always happen in the first year of a Congress. This is because the politicians want the tough votes out of the way so they have time to bamboozle the people they represent into believing the politicians represent them. We the people are to blame for this. We do not pay enough attention to what our politicans are really doing. We listen to the spin and rhetoricl punch lines. We allow the politicans to talk down to us. We the people need to recall and replace the career politicans. Poll after poll shows we the people are dissatisfied with our elected officials yet incumbents usually win. We are often to ready to blame the other guys representative rather than our own. This is the problem when districts are allowed to be gerrymandered in such a way as to ensure a congressional delegation tilted in one direction or another. For instance, in Maryland, there are 8 congressional districts. The distrcits are gerrymandered in such a way that 6 will always be held by a Democrat one that will be democrat most of the time and one that should be mostly solid Republican. The State has at best 60-40 tilt towards the Democrats. Yet the House of Representatives is tilted 87.5-12.5 towards the Democrats? We have reached a point in our representative democracy where we are no longer represented. Our politicans are beholden to their parties because of the money required to win elections. Our politicans believe they know what is best for us and will only represent us as we draw closer to the election. The further away the election the more politicans will represent the party and the less they will represent the people and states from which they come. I believe we could recall all 540 elected federal officials (including the VP) and send in a bunch of High School Upperclassmen and do better than the clowns sitting in Washington DC today. We have the potential government shutdown looming and the Senate didn't feel it was important enough to stay in town over the weekend. A government shutdown is looming and Harry begged the President off a meeting with Congressional leaders. A government shutdown looming and Nancy Pelosi didn't even vote on the bill. A government shutdown is looming and the republicans are discussing healthcare. In the end, I blame all of the politicians for the shutdown. Just ask one question: Where is the budget? We are discussing a shutdown because of a continuing resolution to fund the government. Our politicans have not passed a budget in 4 years. Rather than fund the 13 appropriations bills, the Congress runs the government on continuing resolutions. This is no way to run the government. We wouldn't be having this conversation if the Congress would sit down and do their job and thre President would stop dividing America. Pass idividual appropriations and then at least those portions of the government would be funded. There may be pieces left to argue about but the country would not be held hostage by two political parties that are more interested in political theatrics than really governing.

Fake Pain

The Obama administration is becoming indignant with the answers surrounding sequestration. Jay Carney stood at the podium today and declared "i told you so". Then Jay proceeded to say it was because the cuts had to be painful. There was no other way to implement because of the way the bill was written. Well let me tell you, this administration is lying. First of all, the government agencies knew the law for almost 18 months before they were implemented, yet they failed to plan for them. In fact government agencies were directed by "senior leadership" specifically, not to plan for them. See these agency heads (especially DoD) never believed these cuts would remain in place. So senior leadership in DoD (yes this includes the General Officers) made the conscious decision to employ "hope" as a strategy. That's right, they hoped Congress would change the law and spare them. Rather than plan for the worst as we are taught, the government plans on hope. The government makes decisions made entirely on money. That is why the government can never be cut and only the rate of growth can be slowed. See in the government agencies are rewarded for spending all of their money appropriated and rewarded even more if they can spend money that some other agency had. If an agency spends all of its money it will receive more next year. There is no benefit to find efficiencies because if they don't spend the money that was appropriated they might get less next year. That is the problem with the government. I am tired of hearing how the government can't be run like a business. That is a load of crap. Yes the government could run more like a business. All that needs to happen is to change leadership. Rather than have leaders that preach the right terminology, employ leaders that will enforce the right approaches. The current government leaders use the right business buzz words but do not really know what those terms mean. I am tired of senior leaders sitting around not making decisions while they continue to waste taxpayer dollars. This all the while blaming the politicians for the problems. Yes we have problems with the politics, but the senior leaders in the government are incapable of making a decision. They refuse to make a decision and allow their indecions to make decision for them and then react to the consequences. This is all fake pain that could be avoided.

The Right To Be Free

The attack on Boston yesterday should serve notice to those that are more than willing to give up some of their freedoms for a little bit of temporary security. See the government is not capable of providing protection, safety, and security all of the time. The scene in Boston was horrific and the attackers need to be brought to justice. The problem is protecting our streets from the terrorists should have been a priority, yet the only priority of this government is to protect the liberal interest groups. See for the past few months our government both State and Federal has been focused on taking away our rights as citizens to protect our selves. Our government has been busy chastising Americans into giving up our freedoms in the name of security all the while someone or some group was planning on attacking asporting event. The left is all about individual freedom when it comes to a right or freedom they agree with but are more than willing to give up other peoples right and freedoms if they disagree. So where is the safety and security our government has promised? Please liberals tell me again why I have to give of my right to self protection when the govenrment is obviously incapable of protecting us. I am not blaming the govenrment for the failure to protect the Boston Marathon. In all likelihood there was no way to provide 100% security, However, I do blame the government for attempting to take away my constitutional rights to provide my own security when the government can not provide me with security. Our streets are dangerous and taking away guns just because liberals fear them is not going to change that. In the case of terrorism, this administration will insist on punishing a few individuals rather than whole, but when it comes to American rights this administration punishes the citizenry as a whole rahter than the individual culprits. This adminstration says leave the protection of the citizenry to the police yet look at Boston yesterday and ask yourself, Do you feel safe and secure with government alone protecting us? If a terrorist (domestic or international) is capable of building bombs in the apartment next door and planting them at a major sporting event, do you really believe you are safe and secure? Do you really believe taking away my rights is going to make you safer? Let there be no doubt that we are under attack because we are a free nation. There are rogue states that understand terrorist attacks will bring about calls for less freedom for the sake of security, that is why terrorists strike. The best advice is to carry on with our day to day business and punish those that would attempt to hurt our way of life. Don't give in to terrorism, yet we are still thinking we should give up even more individual freedom for the sake of security. Again the left has it exactly backwards. The events of yesterday should strengthen our resolve to be free, yet I have no doubt there will be talk of again reducing our own rights to freedom in the aftermath of yesterday.

Sequestation

Listen America, don't be fooled by the Obaama and Nancy rhetoric. We do have a spending problem and it won't be fixed simply by saying it isn't so. Like any addiction, we must first admit that we have a problem. Our economy has been in the tank since late 2007, isn't 5 years an awful long time to be waiting for a recovery? Obama can talk all he wants on Tuesday about how awful and draconian the sequestation cuts are presumed. The problem isn't sequestation though. The problem is the unwillingness of the left to admit we have a spending problem. Seriously, the Republicans should not be entertaining any additional tax schemes to take sequestation off the board. Obama enacted his tax increase on the rich as well as the middle class in January. Obama received a remporary increase in the debt ceiling. Now Obama wants even more concessions on sequestation. The Republicans can not fold. Is sequestation the best hand in the world? Certainly not but it is the winning hand right now. The left will use the propaganda machine use their bullhorns to demonize republicans but that will happen no matter what the Republicans do. Stadn firm and the crashing economy will be the Republicans fault, capitulate and the media will portray it as another loss from a party bankrupt of ideas. The left will not cease in their cry for more taxes until they figure out there is no more of other people's money to be had. As long as Republicans keep giving in the left will keep on taking without compromise. Obama received his tax increases on 77% people already. Now he has to be forced to either find budget cuts to match sequestation or live with his own idea. See it was not the evil republicans that dreamed up sequestation. It was Obama's idea. Obama is playing chicken and winning right now. See Obama doesn't believe republicans will allow defense cuts. The problem is defense needs to have a haircut. Iraq has been shut down for over a year and yet the DoD budget is still increasing. No one can tell me that there are not cuts to be gained from reducing our footprint in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now the defense cts will be tough this year as there are 6 months left in the year to take big reduction in funding. It will be tough but only becasue DoD never thought it would come to sequestation so they never even had a contingency plan in place. DoD has had over a year to figure out what happens with sequestation. Instead of planning Dod went full speed ahead. Sequesttion is a necessary evil. Republicans need to tell Obama that sequestation is about spending cuts period. Tell Obama that there will be a time to discuss tax reform but this is not the forum. Tax reform is important but should revenue neutral. Like I said, Obama already enacted his tax increase on the working class and the rich. Funny I was reading the left's interpretation of the CBO concerning deficit reduction and how that is dragging on the economy. Funny thing is though the left believes that is because of spending reductions, when in reality the drag is because of tax increases. This is what happens when you use terms to distract. See "deficit reduction" must mean cuts in spending. "Affordable health care" must mean that healtch care costs will be reduced or at least neutral. That none of these is reality doesnt matter to the left. It is about distraction and implying rather than truthfulness and accuracy. Stop playing around an force Obama to the table of spending reductions without further tax increases. Once Republicans give away all of the taxes there will be nothing left to use as leverage for tax reform, which means tax rates will necessarily go up. I don't like or care for sequestation. However, as long as the left refuses to admit they have a spending problem then the Republicans have to move forward with Obama's plan. Obama planned this but didn't believe it would actually be seriously considered. Well the time is now for serious consideration. Washington is broke, this is an opportunity to take short term criticism for long term gain. Save the tax reform for when we get to entitlement reform. That or we will again be taxed at higher rates to pay for an entitlement the left will refuse to reform.
